Single thick boards are ideal for using in between tiers of your cake.
They are approx 2mm thick and with the additions of dowels inside your cake, are sturdy enough to hold your cake tiers.
Single thick cards have a finished edge so the smaller sizes could also be used for holding simple small cakes, however if your cakes are heavy we recommend to use a double thick 3mm board or cake drum.
